Spore Lungs are a mission objective within Helldivers 2 on Terminid Hive World planets. Found within Terminid cave systems, these large subterranean fruiting bodies are the source of The Gloom. Larval Terminids within the lungs appear to produce the Gloom Spores, while the Lung itself pumps it into the exosphere.

The exact biology of how it works though is unimportant. What is important is that they are destroyed, however with the lungs themselves being located deep within Terminid hives, Helldivers must detonate a B-100 Portable Hellbomb to eradicate the spore lung. Only then will the long and final monitor beep of justice be heard.
