The Obtruder is a small probe deployed by the 
Illuminate on worlds where 
Appropriators are present. An alternative design to regular Watchers, Obtruders are instead designed as combat drones - moving in swarms and peppering their targets with small plasma blasts.
Behavior
Acting as chaff units for Appropriators, Obtruders travel in small swarms between 3 to 6 drones, patrolling the area in rapid speeds. Compared to regular Watchers, however, they are incapable of summoning reinforcements or paralyzing their targets. Once a 
Helldiver is spotted, they will proceed to fly around them, shooting their projectiles.
They can be easily distinguished by darker colors, smaller build and the fact they never travel alone.
Tips
- While they are weak on their own and easily dispatched even by small arms fire, if not taken care of properly they will accumulate to threatening numbers.
- Since Appropriators do not use any Voteless units in their roster, Obtruders are the replacement to the standard chaff.
- A single shot from the AC-8 Autocannon in flak mode is enough to wipe out an entire patrol of Obtruders.
- Like Watchers, Obtruder corpses have an explosive component. This may lead to unexpected secondary effects such as collateral damage, destroyed Warp Ships, or squad reduction.
