The Pouncer is a small 
Terminid that appears in missions starting from Easy (2) difficulty.
Together with its smaller kin, the Pouncer's main role is to be a chaff unit, swarming the 
Helldivers and giving opportunity for their bigger brethren to strike. They can easily be discerned from normal Scavengers by bright yellow wings.
Behavior
Pouncers behave identically to a Scavenger; as their name suggests, the Pouncer's main method of attack is jumping at Helldivers to close the gap. Said jump is quite often imprecise, resulting in the Pouncer landing far from the Helldiver or flying overhead. This behavior results in Pouncers being constantly in very close distance to their target, making escape or retreat much harder when swarmed.
Like the majority of small and medium-sized Terminids, once it spots a Helldiver, the Pouncer will immediately call for reinforcements via Bug Breach. When doing this, Pouncers emit a loud and distinct noise.

**The percentage of damage that is applied to the enemy's Main health pool. At 0 HP, the enemy dies. In case of some enemies, they may enter a "bleedout" phase before dying.
Tactics
- Like their larger cousins, Pouncers prefer to jump at their prey while flanking and, if not engaged directly, may appear from offscreen.
- Due to their jumping behavior, one must exercise caution when handling explosive weaponry. Very often Pouncers might jump straight into your sights, and the resulting shot will most likely result in the death of the Helldiver as the explosion erupts in their face.
- The same applies to any form of grenade or stratagem, as quite often Pouncers will bounce those back at Helldivers by pure coincidence.
- A swarm of Pouncers can easily stop any plans of retreat. Be sure to thin their numbers before repositioning.
- If you are having trouble with their numbers, a Sentry or Guard Dog might be a good idea.
- When calling a Bug Breach, Pouncers emit the same shrill sound as their orange cousins. Be on the lookout.
Trivia
- It is speculated by the community that Pouncers are a juvenile form of Hunters and Stalkers. While this theory is not confirmed, it is heavily supported by their physical appearance.
- Due to an unknown issue in the game, if killed just as their leaping animation starts, their bodies are thrown upwards, resulting in a quite hilarious "ragdoll".
