Lightning Spires are static defenses occasionally found at Illuminate Encampments and Objectives. They are that faction's version of the S.E.A.F.'s own Tesla Tower, ready to shock any particularly aggressive attacker into submission.

Appearance

Compared to an SEAF Tesla Tower, Lightning Spires have a more sinister, spiky appearance; and lack the rotating assembly or other visibly moving parts.

Tactics

Illuminate Lightning Spires function much like our own, even so far as deterring any Voteless wandering near it and has a slightly longer range. They can withstand many forms of attack, but will fall to explosive damage. This includes any Dark Fluid canisters that may be left nearby. Like the human Tesla Towers, they will not directly attack prone Helldivers, but arcs from other targets may still jump to them.

Armor sets with Electrical Conduits provide significant protection, and are also useful options against Watchers and Harvesters.

Trivia

• For reasons unknown, some Sentry targeting systems will prioritize Lightning Spires while inflicting no damage on them, neutralizing their use in an assault.
