• The name "Strohmann", German for straw man, is a play on the idea of a "straw man argument", a fallacy in which someone in a debate creates a misrepresented version of their opponent's argument in order to make it - and by extension the opponent - easier to attack. The German word also has the meaning of puppet, suggesting the corporation is actually the Ministry, very much putting the truth right into the beholder's eye.

Morgunson Defense, commonly known as Morgunson, is a mega-corporation that provides weaponry to the citizens of Super Earth, be it the Super Earth Armed Forces or regular civilians. Morgunson is favored for "Hunting, Warfare, Home Defense" and, most of all, "Tradition".

Morgunson officially works closely with the Ministry of Defense as their primary weapon supplier. They are responsible for producing weapons such as the SG-225 Breaker and vehicles such as the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit, the latter of which is manufactured in the Morgunson Arsenal on Tien Kwan.

• Morgunson is a play on words of "more guns, son", while giving the impression of a Nordic name.

• Harvesting Element-710 from the bugs is the ulterior motive of Super Earth's war against the Terminids, referring heavily to the suggested ulterior motive of present U.S. governments to invade in the Middle East.

Ampudyne

• Ampudyne and its products align with the spurned ideology of the Cyborgs, who would enhance human bodies with cybernetic implants. However, this is not the first instance Super Earth would apply a double standard when it comes to similarities with their declared enemies.

C.O.B Genetics officially works closely with the Ministry of Humanity. This is presumably to prevent genetic disorders or provide disease resistance through human gene editing. Their name and logo are a reference to corn, as many consumer variants on real-life Earth are selectively bred and genetically modified to be easier to grow and more appealing to consumers.

Trustor

Trustor is a mega-corporation that specialises in banking and economics, with advertisements for Trustor Bank being found in urbanized settlements across the Federation. Trustor is also the producer of Eagle Sweat and a sponsor of the DSS. Additionally, with the Terminids causing property damage across the Federation, Trustor Bank has started advertising "Bug Insurance".

Trustor officially works closely with the Ministry of Prosperity.

Admiral Defense

Admiral Defense, officially shortened to AM Defense, is a defense contractor that specialized in providing military gear to the S.E.A.F.'s line infantry. However, in December 2184, they would begin construction work on a new factory with the aim of expanding their services towards the provision of gear to the Helldiver Corps, having secured a multi-trillion Super Credit contract with the government.

With the completion of their multi-complex factory hub at Achernar Secundus, fleetwide deployment of the Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV) is now possible.

Trivia

• The name of this company may be taken from the villain of I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, in which a sentient supercomputer called AM has taken over Earth and killed off all of humanity barring 5 individuals, in an act of revenge against the humans for creating it and giving it sentience yet no means to act upon it. In an ironic twist, AM's name in that story comes from the acronym "Allied Mastercomputer" and was built by the United States in order to wage a global war against Russia and China, both of which had also built respective supercomputers.
• Alternatively, the name may be a take on the General Dynamics corporation, one of the largest defense contractors in North America.
• Johan Pilestedt jokingly said that AM stands for "Angry Mom" on the Helldivers Discord.

Ståhl Arms

Due to the reemergence of the Illuminate extremists - as well as the amount of ammo, stratagems, and lives of heroes used to combat them - the Federation's Q4 defense budget for 2184 was put under unexpected strain. To address this issue, the Ministry of Defense entered into a contract with reputable arms manufacturer Ståhl Arms. All Helldivers were then effective immediately granted access to 3 new weapons manufactured by them: the StA-52 Assault Rifle, the StA-11 SMG, and the PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle.

• Ståhl Arms is, of course, a reference to Stahl Arms, the Helghast arms manufacturer known for developing and producing weapons for the military of the Helghan Empire from the Killzone series, which Helldivers 2 had its first collaborative event with.
• Ståhl is a Swedish surname from ståhl, an ornamental spelling of stål, or 'steel' in English.

Martian Armory

Martian Armory, abbreviated to MA, is a weapons manufacturer presumably based on Mars. It is responsible for producing weapons such as the M7S SMG, M90A Shotgun and the MA5C Assault Rifle which are often showcased in the "Obedient Democracy Support Troopers" cartoon.

Trivia

• Martian Armory is a reference to Misriah Armory, the manufacturer of much of the weaponry and gear in the Halo franchise, including the MA5C and M7S commonly used by the ODSTs. In Halo lore, Misriah is also a Mars-based company. In Helldivers, Martian Armory is also listed as making the M90A Shotgun, but in the Halo universe this gun is actually made by Weapon System Technology, though Misriah Armory does advertise the gun.

H.L.S Arms

H.L.S Arms is a weapons company that manufactured much of the equipment used by the Helldivers during the First Galactic War.

Advertisements for H.L.S are commonly seen throughout Helldivers 1, most prominently in the urban colony maps. The company is not seen or mentioned in Helldivers 2, but appears in some early concept art for the game.

SUMY Corp

The SUMY Corp or SUMY Corporation is a corporation that makes frozen yoghurt and sends out frozen yoghurt salesmen on to the battle field. Many frozen yoghurt salesmen were being deliberately targeted on the battlefield, so Super Earth High Command had to make a statement saying that the salesmen are friend not foe.^[1]

Patriot Hut

Patriot Hut is a fast food restaurant chain whose advertisements can be found in the Federation's cities. They are known for serving burgers with "over four kinds of meat" and "flame-grilled Helldawgs" which feature "all-beef buns".

• The debate surrounding calamari and whether it is patriotic or a sign of Illuminate mind control could be a reference to sauerkraut being renamed to liberty cabbage in the United States during the First World War, due to its German origins and strong anti-German sentiment at the time.

Bug Fest

Another popular fast food restaurant chain whose advertisements and restaurants can be found in more urbanized settlements across the Federation, Bug Fest seems to have a distinctly Terminid theme.

While they serve burgers, BBQ, kebabs and wok's, it is currently unknown whether the restaurants use real meat harvested from the Terminids in their food or if this is merely bug-themed advertisement. Still, in the aftermath of Operation Pest Control, some collected insecticide biomass was put towards agricultural protein rations for displaced citizens, so it is possible that they do use real Terminid meat.

• If actually eating the bugs is patriotic, then eating calamari and pretending it was carved from an Overseer's corpse should be too. Whether or not this contrast is intentional is unknown.

Superwaffle Dispensary

While this is likely a joke, it could imply that something happened to real tea trees, or perhaps using real tea leaves is simply expensive, leading to artificial recreations.

Fighting the enemies of Liberty is messy work, with Helldivers often returning to their Super Destroyers covered in oil, spores, bile and blood. Fortunately at least one business chain seems to specialize in cleaning away such stains.

Super Clean is a laundry service found in urban settlements whose Stain Remover products are advertised to wash off oil stains, spores, bile and blood.

Terraform is a corporation that has advertisements in the urban colonies of Helldivers 1, presumably specialising in technology for terraforming planets to make them more livable for colonists.

Astrogate is a corporation that has advertisements in the urban colonies of Helldivers 1, presumably being an interstellar travel agency. Advertisements for Astrogate are also seen in the military complex during Helldiver Training.

Arrowhead Space Agency

• The company and the above quote from the Super Destroyer's C.O. are both a glaring reference to the developers of the game, Arrowhead Game Studios. Rerouters
