The Ministry of Truth (MoT) is a federal executive Ministry of Super Earth. As the Federation's propaganda bureau, it is responsible for providing information based on government-approved facts and Democratic values to the public through all of the channels it possesses control over, from the Galactic Wide Web to the many possible bandwidths of interstellar transmissions. All posters speaking about the other Ministries and the rest of the Federation at large are created and distributed by the Ministry of Truth in order to give the most truthful information possible to their citizens.

By and large, the Ministry of Truth is responsible for the dissemination of news and war reports. As reported by the Ministry, their reporting and evaluations have an accuracy rating of 100%. Any evidence to the contrary, or news garnered from outside official channels, is considered dissident propaganda and should be reported to the Ministry of Unity.

Democracy Officers

The Ministry of Truth is the Ministry which every Democracy Officer belongs to, with their role being to motivate Helldivers and other S.E.A.F. personnel to fight for Managed Democracy and "optimize their Citizenship".

Judging by their battle-scarred appearance, the Democracy Officers appear to be seasoned combat veterans, employed by the Ministry of Truth as political officers to dispense inspirational quotes for the troops of the Ministry of Defense, as well as update them on the war effort and the state of the Federation as a whole. It can be assumed that they can also report and relay any dissident activity (such as deserting) that they may witness in the troops.

The Democracy Officers are not to be confused with the Loyalty Officers mentioned by the Service Technician, the ship TV ads, and posters throughout the game, which encourage Citizens to report all dissident activity to their "local Loyalty Officer". Judging by the Loyalty Officers' role as active police who quell internal threats to the Federation's security - unlike the Democracy Officers who mainly act as propaganda spokesmen - the Loyalty Officers instead belong to the Ministry of Unity, the law enforcement Ministry.

Super Earth Broadcasts

“	All content contained within Super Earth Broadcasts is true and irrefutable. Citizens who express opinions in relation to broadcasts including but not limited to concern, discontent, anger, doubt, fear, disillusionment, confusion, helplessness, inadequacy or anything less than overwhelming patriotism will be punished to the full extent of the law. Serious cases may result in arrest, relocation, or termination.	„

The Ministry of Truth is responsible for the creation and dissemination of the Super Earth Broadcasts, the official Patriotic Service Announcements of the Federation of Super Earth. Every Broadcast includes a disclaimer informing the audience that their undivided attention is required by law, and that the expression of anything less than overwhelming patriotism in response to each Broadcast is illegal, with deviations presumably being reported to the Ministry of Unity.

The Super Earth Broadcasts also come in the form of posters proudly displayed throughout the Federation's territory, which inform citizens about the various Ministries and their functions.

The Ministry of Truth is in charge of supervising Super Earth's largest media company, Strohmann Media, and their news channel, Strohmann News, which the Helldivers are able to watch aboard their Super Destroyers. A voiceline from the Super Destroyer's Ship Master provides insight into how works of art, and potentially all other forms of media, are handled in the Federation. Authorship and ownership of works of art is now, presumably, transferred to the government of Super Earth, who then immediately converts said work of art into data to then replicate endlessly through the Galactic Wide Web. It can be inferred that Artificial Intelligence is used for this replication, which may allow for the Ministry of Truth to perform alterations on pieces of media that don't adhere with the official government narrative at any moment.

The Ministry of Truth has also approved a series of meditation videos (Part 1, Part 2) to be shown on the Helldivers' Super Destroyers, which helps temper their spiritual and mental needs between missions.

Studies and Investigations

Although maintaining the internal safety of the Federation is the responsibility of the Ministry of Unity, the Ministry of Truth is known to regularly conduct journalistic studies and in-depth investigations to gauge information with which to help law enforcement. For example, a Ministry of Truth study was used to aid the Ministry of Unity's Loyalty Officers in recognizing the connection between "undemocratic haircuts" and dissident behavior in citizens.^[1]

Similar studies, investigations and reports conducted by the MoT to aid law enforcement include analyzing the potential household hazards of lava lamps; the "statistical anomaly" that caused the hatching of Titan-class Terminid eggs sold as patriotic curios to Class-A citizens; and most notably, the search for the source of the data breach that caused the plans for the Star of Peace to fall into non-Super Earth hands.

Trivia

• The name and function of the Ministry of Truth are direct references to the Ministry of Truth from George Orwell's novel 1984, which is similarly responsible for distributing propaganda and rewriting all information to fit the government's narrative at any given time. The Ministry of Unity is similarly a reference to the loyalty-enforcing Ministry of Love from the book.
