Duma Tyr is one of the four planets that reside within the Nanos Sector.
Topography and Astrography

Similar to planets like Martale, Aurora Bay, Demiurg, and Shelt, Duma Tyr is a temperate tundra planet without many notable events or features that dot its surface. It consists of mostly hilly pastures dottted with shrubs of many colors and coniferous trees, accompanied by the occasional ridge or peak throughout the valley. While the terrain itself is unremarkable, mud is frequently found in the more rural portions of the planet, which may restrict movement.

A particular form of xenoflora found on Duma Tyr, although not exclusive to this planet, are plants that will be colloquially referred to as "Spore Clusters". Spore Clusters can be found frequently, which can be used for temporary cover since, when disturbed, these will release a cloud of spores that can be used as a smokescreen. However, be careful when shooting at these since they will ragdoll you if you are too close while also making you walk slower for several seconds.

Duma Tyr is not home to any Mega Cities or facilities of greater importance. However, Duma Tyr was home to a number of critical weapons research facilities responsible for the development of MD-8 Gas Mines. Additionally, its surface contains many scattered urban settlements that house the planet's rural population. These urban settlements often contain or are surrounded by defensive
S.E.A.F. infrastructure, such as dormant Surface-to-Air Missile Batteries or SEAF Artillery that, if successfully commandeered by a tech-savvy
Helldiver Squadron, can prove a valuable asset during the battle.
The Duma Tyr System consists of planet Duma Tyr itself and at least three other astronomical bodies, which are a nearby blue gas giant, a nearby white, rocky exoplanet and a distant red gas giant. Due to the proximity of the aforementioned blue gas giant, it is currently unknown whether Duma Tyr is an independent planet bound to its eponymous star or if it is a moon orbiting the blue gas giant. Additionally, at least one orange nebula can be observed from Duma Tyr's orbit.
The Duma Tyr System serves as the closest entry point available to the
Automaton Legion into the Sagan Sector, with the other two being sector neighbor Dolph and nearby Curia in the Marspira Sector. Control over the Duma Tyr System can prove advantageous in the long term struggle against the socialist menace, as it can help keep the self-actuated belligerents from attempting another takeover of
New Aspiration City, an assault on the Helldiver Training Facilities on Zegema Paradise or, even worse, another invasion of Super Earth.
History
Second Galactic War
Operation Good Samaritan
A Helldiver moves to secure Super Uranium during their deployment on Duma Tyr. August 6th, 2185
Duma Tyr was, much like its neighboring planets in the Nanos Sector, a prosperous planet colony of Super Earth. Having been settled during the Great Expansion Era after the end of the First Galactic War, Duma Tyr's history would continue from there without many moments of note, as its economy developed at such a pace that, while its citizens managed to build several urbanized settlements throughout its surface by 2185, it hadn't urbanized at the same rate as its neighbors Julheim and Bekvam III.
However, on Febuary 25th, 2185, the safety of this prosperous world began to waver as intercepted
Automaton transmissions indicated that the planet was one of two targets in an assault from the foul bots. The planet, at the time, was still the home of the much-delayed MD-8 Gas Mines. However, the nearby planet of Julheim was also marked for attack from the democracy-hating scum, and possesed the Good Citizen Andrews' School for Moderately Feeble Young Adults.
As such, many
Helldivers rushed to the defensive with Julheim in mind. While neither planet had suffered a direct attack just yet, the simultaneous invasions of Bekvam III and Charbal-VII by the Automaton Legion seemingly Guaranteed that one or possibly both worlds would fall in short order... then, the Miracle of Bekvam happened. A sudden and unexpected collapse in
Automaton capabilities gave the
Helldiver Corps the opportunity to liberate huge swaths of territory from the enemy's socialist grasp.
The latest intel from the
Ministry of Defense indicates that this lapse in combat effectiveness was caused by a routine update to the Automatons' Operating System. Whilst the enemy has since regained full fighting capacity, the Second Galactic War has seemingly reached a brief stalemate where neither the
S.E.A.F. or the enemies of humanity are able to gain any ground, all but ensuring the success of the major order.
Following the success of Operation Good Samaritan, MD-8 Gas Mines would reach operational readiness and be rolled out across the fleet in short order. However, only time will tell whether the
Helldivers will be able to keep the war from reaching the Duma Tyr, or if the planet will finally face the horrors of the Second Galactic War.
Operation Jet Crusade

Duma Tyr would spend the next 4 months under relative peace. During Operation Tormenta de Fuego, the planet would see a small invading fleet of 8 Automaton ships, but the attack was easily repelled without much incident, a rare bright spot in an otherwise torrid operation in which the
Helldivers lost significant territory to the
Automatons.
Duma Tyr would go on relatively unthreatened ever since. The
Automatons would continuously attack the crucial Bekvam III time and time again, but were always either flushed out via re-liberation or a successful Helldiver defense. As such, Duma Tyr went on unthreatened, but even this long-lasting peace was soon to end.
On June 26th, the
Automatons would launch a brutal offensive without any warning. A rebuilt, augmented
Jet Brigade featuring more Automaton types equipped with jetpacks than before would resurface, launching a massive, insurmountable attack of 40 battalions on Bekvam III. Half an hour later, a second division of the Automaton
Jet Brigade had launched an even larger assault on Curia in the Marspira Sector. Immediately, High Command issued a new Order demanding the
Helldivers to stage a defense, noting that while Bekvam and Curia would assuredly fall to the bots, it was crucial that they eventually be stopped in their tracks.
Ultimately, most
Helldivers would deploy to Curia's defense as the planet was considered a more frontline planet in comparison to Bekvam. As such, by the time the
Automatons took over Bekvam III, the
Jet Brigade would essentially lose none of its strength from the attack on Bekvam. As such, by the time the
Jet Brigade invaded Duma Tyr the next day, the strike force still had 38 of its total 40 battalions equipped to take down the planet.
A somewhat larger contingency of
Helldivers deployed to Duma Tyr to try to thin the ranks of the robot marauders, but were hardly successful in this attempt either. Duma Tyr had fallen by the next day, and the
Jet Brigade operating on the planet still had hardly been thinned out.
Operation Trooper Deatomization
A Helldiver patrols the streets of an abandoned urban settlement on Duma Tyr. July 29th, 2185.
On the 6th of August, 2185, the first residents would begin to populate the three Maximum Security Cities (MSCs) of New Hope City, New Aspiration City, and New Yearning City, on the planets Fort Union, Emeria, and Fort Sanctuary, respectively. As these trailblazing models of citizenship establish their families in these well-guarded metropolises, it was of vital importance that no agents of Tyranny mar the momentous proceedings.
While New Hope City and New Yearning City were far from enemy forces, citizens arriving to
New Aspiration City on Emeria could not ignore the
Automatons threatening the neighboring Nanos Sector. High Command surmised that the
Automatons sought to intimidate our citizenry and derail the success of the MSC Project through manipulation of public perception.
As such, the
Helldivers were ordered to clear the Nanos Sector of all Automaton belligerents, thereby establishing a secure buffer zone for New Aspiration City. Duma Tyr would be the first planet liberated, as the
S.E.A.F. fought through the night until midday of the 7th of August.
Operation Ultrakill and Festival of Reckoning
Luckily for Duma Tyr, it hadn't been in the clutches of the
Automatons for too long before it was finally liberated. As such, its colonists began to rebuild swiftly after the devastating wreckage caused by the lawless
Jet Brigade. The planet was healing, and with no perimeter threats to it, Duma Tyr was secure.
As has been the case in the Second Galactic War, peace is never truly everlasting. Just weeks after its liberation, Duma Tyr watched on in horror as a joint
Terminid-
Automaton-
Illuminate offensive began to encroach on
Super Earth. The Federation was officially in crisis. The
Terminids brutally began the proceedings, taking over both the
Xenoentomology Centre on Turing and the
Factory Hub on Achernar Secundus. The
Automatons followed suit, taking over Charon Prime and unleashing their rebuilt
Jet Brigade on Curia once more. The
Illuminate showed no qualms joining in on the carnage, ravaging through Grafmere, Parsh, Adhara, and Myrium. Despite this, Duma Tyr remained out of the woods- but that was soon to end.
At roughly 4 AM-SEST on August 24, with the attack by the Automaton
Jet Brigade still raging on Curia, the bots showed no hesitation in revealing they had rebuilt the
Incineration Corps on Choohe and Penta. After multiple planet-hops, they eventually stationed separately on Marfark and Vernen Wells, before unleashing a dual, massive assault of 45 battalions each on Bekvam III and Tarsh. With both planets away from the main fighting on Curia, Fenmire, and Effluvia amongst others, both planets easily fell to the
Automatons by the 26th of August.
The western flank of the
Incineration Corps was now menacing the peaceful world of Duma Tyr. All that stood between the Corps and the Maximum Security City on Emeria were Duma Tyr and Borea. The writing was on the wall now for the citizens of Duma, and sure enough, the
Automatons began an assault on the planet hours after Bekvam fell.
Even with the massive influx of
Helldivers after the expansion of the Super Destroyer fleet, Duma Tyr was located away from the main battling. Most Helldivers would be concentrated at the battles of Veld, Seyshel Beach, and Barabos, leaving Duma Tyr away from any strong Helldiver support. The Automaton
Incineration Corps officially took over the world 24 hours after the assault began, cutting Duma Tyr's peaceful era short.
Duma Tyr would remain under occupation for almost four months, until the 22nd of December, 2185, when the planet was liberated as part of that year's extended festival of Reckoning celebrations. It's liberation would also lead to the liberation of Borea by the
S.E.A.F. two days later. To celebrate, the
Ministry of Prosperity would issue discounts on consumer goods federation wide. A Vengeful Reckoning for all!
