Haldus is one of the four planets that reside within the Ferris Sector.

History
First Galactic War
During the First Galactic War, was a desert moon large enough to be considered it's own planet, the terrain consisting of a dry variation of cliffs and ravines, the temperature ranging from hot to near boiling point. Despite this, the Cyborgs had many habitation modules on the planet and a major military presence, although like other Cyborg strongholds it was eventually overcome by the might of the Federation of Super Earth, thanks in no small part to the valiance of the Helldivers.
However, after the war, it was discovered that Haldus was rapidly cooling down, something possibly linked to its core which was rapidly cooling, shutting down the dynamo that sustained its magnetic field which left the world vulnerable to the solar wind, clawed away the atmosphere and leaving it a barren moon for the better part of a century.
One hundred years later however, the planet's core was restarted thanks to a team of terraforming drilling to the center of the world and setting off a series of nuclear explosions in order to restart the rotation of the core. After this, a massive terraforming project funded by the
Ministry of Expansion transformed the moon of Haldus into a lush, if somewhat humid swamp world.
Life returns to Haldus as sunlight filters past dangling vines hanging from gnarled trees, filtering down to the saturated undergrowth below, much like the prosperity of
Super Earth itself.
Second Galactic War
Return of the Illuminate
A Helldiver searches the perimeter of one of Haldus' settlements in search for Illuminate hostiles. January 17th, 2185.
Haldus would go through the Great Democratization and the first year of the Second Galactic War completely untouched, its colonists managing to prosper well enough to finance the construction of urban centers all throughout the swamps across its surface. However, a despicable foe watched in envy how all this prosperity was graciously manifesting on the moon , and immediately moved to strike.
The
Illuminate, an old foe of
Super Earth thought banished and extinct a century ago, had now returned and was committed to waging war against Freedom once more. On January 4th, 2185, the Illuminate would launch an assault onto Haldus, hoping to plunder as many resources and abduct as many colonists as they could. The Helldivers, despite being occupied with operations against the
Automatons, would dispatch a contingent towards Haldus in hopes of damaging the Illuminate forces as much as possible. Unfortunately, the lack of manpower doomed Haldus' defense and, after 12 hours of horror, the invaders left. Haldus' inhabitants would be left scarred and traumatized, their homes destroyed and their families separated.
Operation Democracy Delivered
A Helldiver is forced to kill a former relative who had been abducted and turned into a Voteless by the Illuminate invaders. January 17th, 2185
However, Haldus' inhabitants would not be left waiting too long for justice to be dispensed. Soon after the Illuminate invaded their planet, the Democracy Space Station would not only be repaired and brought back online, but would also be improved with more manoeuvrability and better logistics for optimal deployment of Democracy's finest artillery.
These upgrades would soon be put to use on Haldus, as the Illuminate returned with another invasion fleet on January 17th. The Helldivers would do their best to rotate and redeploy from the grueling campaign at Heeth towards Haldus, which allowed the Illuminate to make gains during the early hours of the invasion. However, once the Helldivers arrived, they would immediately put the DSS' might to full use, activating an Orbital Blockade and delivering peace upon the invaders one bullet at a time.
Despite the loss of the battle, Haldus would inflict massive losses on the Illuminate invaders, who had already been dealt 2 costly defeats at the battles of Emorath and Rasp.
Operation Deep Cleaning
On June 6th, the
Ministry of Science discovered that Haldus, along with Mog, Bellatrix, and Hybrobius, had
Illuminate hideouts. Thanks to wreckage analysis copiously salvaged from Super Earth's Mega Cities, the
Ministry of Science identified that the enemy's cloaking mechanisms used Dark Fluid to bend light around their smaller spacecraft. And so they fled Super Earth's orbit, hiding in these locations, presumably built before the Invasion of Super Earth, as a backup plan in case that failed.
When they were discovered, the
Illuminate quickly took control of the planets, establishing a 3.5% resistance on Haldus, being the highest of all the 4 planets invaded. High Command declared a new Major Order, called Operation Deep Cleaning, and Bellatrix was one of its targets.
Very few
Helldivers mobilized to liberate this planet, however, thanks to the attrition of the Battle of Mog, resistance dropped to 2.5%.
When Mog was liberated, a small influx of
Helldivers immediately traveled to the Haldus system, to begin their liberation efforts, thanks to the victory over Mog, the resistance dropped from the previous 2.5% to 1.5%.
