The Rigel Sector is an area of inhabited space found in Helldivers 2. Its located to galactic south from Super Earth, on the very edge of Federation space, and it contains 5 habitable planets.

History

Second Galactic War

Together with multiple other sectors in south, Rigel Sector was a victim of series of Illuminate raids in winter of 2184-85, which stopped after Battle for Super Earth.

While most of south was then conquered by Squi'th in summer, Rigel Sector was left untouched until October 2185, when massive Illuminate offensive spilled into it. Helldivers were busy with preparations for Liberty Day, leaving the sector do its fate. Eventually, Squids were stopped at Hort, but it too fell on third attempt.
