Ivis was one of the six planets that reside within the Celeste Sector. It would be completely unreached by the Second Galactic War until its destruction on April 4th, 2185 by the passing of the
Meridian Singularity.
Topography and Astrography
Described by Super Earth High Command as a forest planet, prior to its destruction, Ivis showed a similar biome to Bore Rock, Gacrux and Pherkad Secundus on the Galactic War Map. No available records exist of any combat operations or deployments onto Ivis, as it was the only planet in the entire Terminid Front (if not the Second Galactic War at large) that the enemies of Freedom could never reach. By the time the Celeste Sector saw greater Terminid Incursions, Meridia had already torn Ivis apart and been stopped by the deployment of the Repulsive Gravity Field Generator.
No records or footage exist of Ivis' orbit or surface, leaving the greater composition of the Ivis System a mystery. Additionally, no records or footage exist that could prove the existence of any Mega Cities or important Super Earth facilities on the planet.
History
Second Galactic War
Destruction of Ivis
Ivis was a prosperous planet colony of Super Earth in the Eastern Galactic Rim. Having been colonized during the Great Expansion Era that proceeded the end of the First Galactic War, not many events worthy of note would occur throughout its history after its initial settlement. However, it seems that not even this pure, innocuous existence was enough to spare it from the horrors that were to be brought upon it by the Second Galactic War.
During the initial Terminid Outbreak of 2184, the Celeste Sector at large was besieged by the advancing Terminid hordes before the Helldivers managed to dislodge the Terminids and force them to retreat all the way past the Barrier Planets after the installation of the Terminid Control System.
Even then, the Celeste Sector would not be able to live in peace. From the Supercolony Crisis, to the apparition of the Gloom, the Celeste Sector would be besieged multiple times. Thus, its planets would all remain mostly disconnected with the exceptions of Moradesh and Slif, which were both direct routes to the frontlines against the Terminids.
However, this wouldn't last forever. Following the resurgence of the
Illuminate at Calypso on December 2184, a new development would soon doom Ivis' fate. The Illuminate would begin harvesting Dark Energy from the planets in the Southern Sectors and funneled it into the Meridian Singularity, making it slowly move in the direction of Super Earth itself.
In its path towards the heart of Managed Democracy, the Meridian Singularity would tragically rip apart Angel's Venture on February 13th, 2185, then Moradesh on March 14th, 2185. With 2 planets destroyed and Ivis coming next, the Helldivers fought hard to slow down the Meridian Singularity by all means necessary. After numerous setbacks, they managed to gather enough fuel and materials to allow the
Ministry of Science to build and deploy the Penrose Energy Siphon, which drastically slowed down the Singularity and, following further interventions against the Illuminate during Operation Apocalypse Cancelled, the Meridian Singularity would slow down enough that Super Earth was no longer at its reach, with the Singularity's projected stopping point being located somewhere before it.
Despite this, Ivis was unable to be saved and, on April 5th, 2185, at 15:48 SEST, Ivis would be destroyed by the Meridian Singularity, its mantle ripped off its core and torn apart, in what was yet another display of the Illuminate's heartlessness and thirst for destruction.
