Emotes are actions that can be performed by Helldivers, most of which serve a non-combative purpose. Emotes can be performed during missions and aboard the Super Destroyer by pressing Emote. Certain emotes provide an interaction prompt, allowing a squadmate to respond by pressing Interact.
From the Armory, up to four emotes can be arranged into the Emote Wheel, accessed by holding Emote.

Trivia
- Studious Helldivers discovered that performing a salute while falling could spare oneself from damage, depending on how close to ground the emote was performed.
- The ability to emote while falling went missing in Patch 1.001.100, which also added the Emote Wheel. It was later restored in Patch 1.002.101, which mostly corrected the issue of reducing damage.
- Notably, the "This Is Democracy" and "Draw" emotes would stop all movement and completely cancel use of the Jump Pack, remaining after Patch 1.002.101. Helldivers could receive fall damage from this current position after the emote ceased, but the emote could typically be performed again. Patch 1.002.201 restricted this ability to General Brasch and other select high brass.
- While playing "Rock Paper Scissors", the Casual Salute is used when throwing "Rock".
- From Viper Commandos onward, each new emote is presented in its warbond's trailer.
- The Casual Salute is the only objective to directly impact objectives. The Raise Super Earth Flag objective completes 13% faster per Helldiver performing the salute close to the flag. This allows uncontested flags to be raised faster by a team of idle Helldivers.
- It remains to be seen how long this was possible, but this may have been a feature since release. Players began to confirm with each other roughly sometime after Patch 1.002.001.
- "Test of Conviction" evokes a scene from the movie Predator.
- "This is Democracy" evokes a scene from the movie 300.
- As of the "Omens of Tyranny" update, the Casual Salute can now be used to unlock Resupply Landers, in addition to the usual Interaction prompt.
- In most cases, one can hold Aim while using "Draw", maintaining stance while gaining aim-down-sight bonus and visible reticle. Sometimes, this will instead cause the Helldiver to raise and aim their weapon normally.
- The first shot from the weapon may appear to come from an unusual angle due to a difference in draw speed.
- Aboard the Super Destroyer, the "Draw" emote will be performed with standard-issue finger guns.
- Attempting to use "Draw" with a melee secondary will generally prevent any further offensive action by the Helldiver until the Draw stance is ceased (most easily by movement). Melee secondaries are not drawn, and the stance prevents switching to other weapons.
- "Tip Hat" is performed with minimal change in posture. The user may resume performing other emotes started before tipping hat, without needing to press Emote again. For instance, one may return to "At Ease" stance.
- When responding to "Lockstep":
- A Helldiver equipped with the CQC-1 One True Flag will carry the flag aloft.
- A Helldiver equipped with the CQC-2 Saber will hold it upright.
