In Helldivers 2, Points of Interest are scattered around the area of operation. The amount that can be found varies. Points of Interest can be sought out in multiple ways:
- When looking in the direction of and being within 50-100m of one, a question mark icon appears on the compass.
- Most points can also be seen by a light beam shooting straight up. A light enemy presence is also a solid indicator.
- On the minimap, hovering over places with the cursor. This method is currently not 100% reliable.
- Completing the Lidar Station Strategic Objective.
Special Loot
Most Points of Interest feature a special loot vessel. A Pod has space for 1, a Container has space for 2, and a Bunker has space for 3 with possible additional Supplies inside.
Special Loot may be one of the following:
- a Support Weapon
- a case of 10 or 100 Super Credits
- a Requisition Slip
- a case of 1-3 Medals
- an undocumented Rare Sample
An undocumented Rare Sample is a sample that doesn't count towards the sample limit counter located on the top right corner during a mission.
Types
There are various types of Points of Interest.

Silvery Rock
The coveted Silvery Rock
This medium Point of Interest features a rock shaped like a chicken drumstick and has silvery veins running across it.
Variations:
- Non-Super Rock - It is a rare spawn in difficulties lower than 6, though can also appear at difficulties 6 and above in addition to the Super Rock. It is usually defended and contains some supplies.
- Bile-infused - this variation does not feature any Super Samples, instead having some supplies and Terminids around it.
- Super Rock - In difficulties at and above 6 it always spawns once per map and contains 2–7 Super Samples depending on the difficulty. It is the primary place where Helldivers may find Super Samples, the other being special packages at Terminid Mega Nests or Automaton Fortresses. It is usually but not always undefended.
Underground Container
This medium Point of Interest features a container below ground with some supplies and samples scattered around. It also has a readable note with variations in its content:
- "Cache Inventory: -300 rounds Liberator ammo -14 stims -12 gallons water -3 frag grenades"
- "Next week's delivery: -4 Liberators -2 cases prefab meals -Fuel drum"
It also has a larger variation, an Entrenchment, which features a lot of supplies, some samples and sometimes even a E/MG-101 HMG Emplacement
L-shaped House
This medium Point of Interest features an L-Shaped House with some supplies and samples.
Variations:
- Container - This variation spawns with a Container in the backyard. Sometimes it also has 2 explosive barrels.

Farm
This medium Point of Interest features a small to medium size farm with supplies and samples.
Variations:
- Container - this variation features a container
- Mine - this variation spawns from difficulty 3 onward and features a mine with a Rare Sample
- Flooded - this variation resembles the mine, but the mine is flooded. Only common samples and supplies may be found near the flooded mine.
- Solar Farm - this variation features some solar panels and a Pod.
Bunker
This medium Point of Interest features a Bunker door, which can only be opened by two Helldivers pressing each button at the same time. It may have supplies and samples outside, but inside it additionally contains special loot. Since patch 1.003.201/15722, it is possible to teleport inside the Bunker by using the LIFT-182 Warp Pack. Diving in prone and using the teleport while diving teleports the Helldiver inside where Rare Samples, Super Credits, Requisition Slip and Medals inside the bunker are now being generated before opening the door the normal way.
Variations:
- Pit - the bunker is set into the ground, with a ramp to its right, and a forklift nearby. This variation may also contain Support Weapons.
- Mountainside - the bunker is embedded into the side of a mountain. There may be outcroppings containing collectibles.
- Built-up - the bunker is again embedded in a mountain, but there are more structures nearby. May not contain any exterior collectibles.
- Garage - in City biomes, a bunker within city limits will be free-standing building with a vehicle ramp leading inside.
- Sub-Grade Storage - in Mega Cities, some buildings will have stairways below street level leading to a bunker. There may often be a billboard above indicating the presence of such storage below.
Crashed Pelican
This medium Point of Interest features a crashed Pelican dropship with an outcrop next to it. The outcrop sometimes has supplies and 2 explosive barrels. The wake of the crashed ship has 0-2 common samples and 0-1 grenade cases. There's also a Captain's Log with the message "Transporting a large shipment of flamethrowers. Heavy enemy presence - delivery expected to take the whole day. Derek forgot the fire extinguisher but I'm sure we'll be fi-"
Variations:
- Pod - the outcrop is caused by a Pod
- Rare Sample - this variation spawns on difficulty 3 onward, the outcrop contains at least one Rare Sample
Crashed Bomber
A large, infrequent Point of Interest at the site of a crashed Super Earth Bomber. Supplies and samples will often be strewn about, along with a small cargo container containing two loot items.
E-710 Spill
This medium Point of Interest features the wreck of a large vessel, often fenced off, with small fires and pools of E-710 within. Supplies and Samples are often found within.
City Wall
Certain points along a city wall will have some sort of opening, allowing Helldivers to pass through without needing a Jump Pack, Hellpod, or HE ordnance. These openings are often large enough for vehicles to pass through. There generally are no loot containers. During Automaton attacks, city wall passages are often littered with Contact Mines.
Variations:
- Checkpoint - A checkpoint for visitors from beyond city limits, next to an underground transit corridor entrance, though blocked off due to invaders. SEAF guards are often found stationed to the right of the passage (albeit deceased), along with their supplies. Support Weapons, and occasionally an E/MG-101 HMG Emplacement may be found here. Sometimes, terrain may allow Helldivers to climb on top of the passage, with good sightlines into the rest of the city.
- Breach - A broken section of wall, with supplies placed nearby. (Note that not every breach is necessarily a PoI.)
City Cache
In city bounds, supplies and samples may be gathered at strategic points. There generally are no loot containers. (Note that supplies and support weapons may also be found at non-PoI caches.)
Variations:
- Road Barrier - road barriers may enclose the site.
- Cargo Dock - staircases on either side lead to a small maze of cargo containers, with ammunition boxes often found nearby. A communication tower may also be positioned here to help locate the landmark.
- Corner Shelter - small stash at the corner overhang of certain buildings.
Bugs
- As of 1.000.104, if you reveal Points of Interest by completing the Radar Station side objective, previously hidden PoIs marked this way will always show the "incomplete" icon, unless it is possible to actually collect samples (aside from those hidden inside double-switch Bunkers). These sample-lacking sites may distract from unvisited sites that have uncollected samples.
- As of 1.000.104, hovering the cursor over the location of an undiscovered PoI on the map might not hint at the existence of a PoI, even if it exists physically.
- Since the return of the Illuminate, certain PoIs (especially at City Walls) may also remain in "incomplete" state.
