Azterra is one of the eight planets that resides within the Orion Sector.

History
Second Galactic War
Operation Damage Control
Azterra was, for much of its recorded history, a peaceful planet colony of Super Earth on the Eastern Galactic Rim. Besides its initial colonization during the Great Expansion Era that followed the end of the First Galactic War, not many events in its history are worthy of note. However, the 
Terminids have no appreciation for such a simple existence.
During Operation Courageous Exodus, Azterra and its neighbor Terrek had both been reconnected ot the Federation's FTL Network in order to help relocate millions of Gloom-displaced citizens into the 
Democracy Space Station. Despite some incursions, Azterra and Terrek never saw much action during this operation and went on to get through 2184 without much other involvement in the ongoing Galactic War.
However, despite all of this, the tides soon turned when, on February 2185, a new class of Terminids dubbed the 
Predator Strain appeared on Fenrir III. This strain of Terminids would be eradicated twice before finally managing to spread unchecked throughout the Terminid front product of outbreaks on Esker and Turing following Illuminate invasions during Operation Sushi Bar.
The Predator Strain that came from Esker would quickly hop onto Bore Rock on April 30th, which immediately went on to attack Terrek on May 1st before, on May 2nd, attacking both Cirrus and Azterra.
Operation Ultrakill and Rock And Stone
In the early afternoon of August 19th, 2185, multiple large-scale Terminid incursions would be reported on planets surrounding the Gloom. Perpetrated by the Terminids, they would strike Turing, Erata Prime, Achernar Secundus and Fenrir III as well as other Gloom-adjacent planets as spore outflow rose to unprecedented levels and continued to grow exponentially. Even when under siege, the Xenobiologists at the 
Centre of Science remained cool and analyzed the situation, quickly coming to the conclusion that the Terminids were undergoing a massive population explosion. They also concluded that the only way to stop the assault was to incur a drastic reduction in the Terminid population.
Immediately, High Command called all units into high alert and issued orders for 6,000,000,000 Terminids to be eliminated, while also cautioning 
Helldivers that it was possible that the Terminids would not stop attacking until this quota had been met. Unfortunately this objective was soon massively complicated by the 
Illuminate and 
Automatons taking advantage of the situation, stretching the federations forces to breaking point.
To make things worse on the 27th of August, Tyranny Park 2's Charger Behemoth exhibit experienced a catastrophic malfunction, ultimately resulting in Bore Rock being lost by the afternoon of the 28th. Even worse, the spores from the forbidden gloom zone would create Predator Strain outbreaks several adjacent planets, with the strain quickly spreading from Terrek to Azterra and Cirrus on the 29th. High Command would attempt to pull off a strategic gambit by advising the Helldivers to liberate Terrek to stop the Terminids outbreaks, but unfortunately the Helldiver Corps was spread thin across all three worlds, ultimately resulting in all of them being lost to the Predator Strain.
Azterra would remain lost to freedom until the second stage of Operation Righteous Reclamation. Although not the target of the major order, many Helldivers (around 10% of the corps) would deploy to the planet to facilitate it's liberation. These numbers would only grow as time went on as time went on and it became more and more clear that the second stage of Operation Righteous Reclamation would end in failure many a Helldiver would choose to relocate to Azterra and assist in it's liberation rather than waste time collecting samples on Oshaune. These efforts would prove prudent as Azterra was liberated just past midnight on the 8th of September.
Operation Spore Cleaning
During the set of operations sanctioned by 
Ministry of Expansion between April and May of 2816, Azterra would come under Terminid infestation together with Cirrus on afternoon of April 30th. Due to Major Order focusing on liberating Brilliance, defense of those worlds were severely undermanned. Small percentages of Helldivers and 
S.E.A.F. were picked apart by the Predator Strain, and control of planets was declared lost on May 1st.
May 2186
During the follow up cleanup operations in Orion Sector, Azterra was eventually liberated by S.E.A.F. on May 23rd, after Terminids on this world were separated from their kin by fall of Cirrus couple days earlier.
