Spherion is one of the five planets that reside within the Quintus Sector.

Similar to Baldrick Prime, Irulta, Regnus and Oasis.
History
Interwar (2084 - 2184)
Spherion was a peaceful frontier colony of Super Earth that laid far off in the Southwestern Galactic Rim. Despite being discovered during the First Galactic War, it would not be until during the Great Democratization that Spherion would be first colonized, as its remoteness posed several challenges. However, following its colonization, Spherion's history would flow peacefully and without any other events worthy of note, as its economy boomed and its citizens used their newly acquired wealth to build prosperous urban settlements throughout its surface.
2184 Special Military Operation's
However, Spherion's involvement in the war would start slowly. When the Automatons first invaded the Xzar and Severin Sectors, the colonial overseers of the Quintus Sector were quick to cut all their FTL Lines that could lead to Tibit, in order to contain the spread of the mechanized socialists. This approach would ultimately pay off in spades, as the Automatons were ultimately expunged from the sector and decimated at Tibit.
Second Galactic War
Omens of Tyranny
Yet, for all their troubles, the Quintus Sector was not fated to remain at peace for much longer. For an ancient enemy of Super Earth, long thought to be defeated, was staring from within the darkness. The 
Illuminate, old foes of Freedom from the Fist Galactic War, had returned from their apparent death and were intending to wage war against Humanity for a second time.
Following their defeat at Calypso on December 16th, the Illuminate would begin to undertake a "planet-hopping" raiding campaign, raiding colony after colony every 12 to 16 hours. This campaign would prolong for a month, as the Democracy Space Station had been taken offline for repairs due to suspected sabotage. However, once the DSS was finally brought back online, the Helldivers would immediately begin counteroffensive operations.
Operation Democracy Delivered (January 16th - January 22nd, 2185)
On January 17th, 2185, Spherion would be attacked by the Illuminate, some hours after their devastating defeat at Rasp. The Helldivers would relocate as many available Super Destroyers to Spherion as they could, despite a significant portion of the corps being occupied with the liberation campaign at Heeth. As such, the Illuminate would manage to make significant gains during the initial hours of the invasion. It would be these gains what eventually built up to allow the Illuminate invaders to successfully plunder Spherion's colonies and escape 12 hours later.

FTL Timeline
- February 8th, 2184: Spherion is connected by FTL to Stor Tha Prime and Stout.
- June 13th, 2184: FTL lines to Stor Tha Prime and Stout are destroyed.
- October 27th, 2185: FTL lines to Stor Tha Prime is re-established, plus the creation of new FTL lines to Kneth Port and Sirius.
