The strange subversion of photosynthesis that sustains the oddly-hued flora that flourishes on this planet remains an intriguing mystery to Super Earth's greatest exo-biologists.
~ Official Description

Peacock is one of the six planets that reside within the Sten Sector.

Topography

Similar to Veld.

Named for the male peafowl bird due to it's vibrant blue and green coloring seen by ships in high orbit, planet Peacock is a Shadowed Jungle class world found on the far edge of the eastern galactic rim. Covered in dense flora obscured by a perpetual twilight, the strange subversion of photosynthesis that sustains the oddly-hued flora that flourishes on this planet remains an intriguing mystery to the Super Earth's greatest exo-biologists.

In any case, the nocturnal conditions have done little to slow the local Terminid outbreak, meanwhile localized geomagnetic storms has caused a series of ion storms in the planet's upper atmosphere, which have damaged and disabled local communications and electronics utilized by S.E.A.F. and Helldiver forces stationed on the planet.

History

Second Galactic War

Operation Liberty Tide

Located in the Sten sector of the eastern part of the known galaxy, Peacock was overrun by the Terminids during the initial Terminid Outbreak on February of 2184. The entire sector was quarantined by Super Earth High Command, and any attempts to retake them were put on hold near indefinitely, until the main outbreak could be contained.

However following the re-opening of FTL lanes between the Sten and Jin Xi Sectors on September 2nd 2184, as well as the final liberation of Trandor on September 21st, the S.E.A.F. would set foot on Peacock for the first time in over seven months. However progress towards clearing the planet over the following days was negligible, with the Helldiver and army forces present barely even making a dent in the Terminid numbers. Even so, High Command is hopefully for a breakthrough as it would open up FTL lanes deeper into terminid controlled space.
