Andar is one of the five planets that reside within the Akira Sector.
Topography
Similar to Kerth Secundus. The planet possesses large reserves of limestone, iron ore, and gravel which were left mostly untapped to maintain the unique biodiversity and natural wonders of this world. These restrictions were lifted on the 6th of November, 2185, in order to acquire construction material of the reconstruction of the megacity of York Supreme.
History
Second Galactic War
Return of the Illuminate
Andar was, ever since its colonization during the Great Democratization, a peaceful colony far off in the Southern Galactic fringe, without many events in its history being worthy of any mention.
Primarily a mining world with vast reserves of limestone, iron ore and other valuable minerals, Andar gained enough wealth at some point to build more urbanized settlements, with a grid of paved roads, pipes to carry drinking water, waste management services, an electrical power supply and most importantly, green grass lawns on which the citizens of Andar could proudly pitch their Super Earth Flags on for Liberty Day.
However, an ancient enemy stared at this humble community from the darkness of space. The
Illuminate, envious of such calmness, would make a return after their banishing from the Milky Way at the end of the prior century. On December 18th, 2184, Andar and Acubens Prime would both be attacked simultaneously, as the Illuminate were conducting a series of raids across the southern sectors of the galaxy.
Having already defeated them at Calypso, Bellatrix and Kerth Secundus, the Helldivers rallied together to take on the alien invaders, determined to end this odious plundering of their fellow citizens' resources and the senseless bloodshed of Freedom-loving patriots. However, this despicable sortie would only end in a victory for the Helldivers, as they easily crushed the measly 8 invasion fleets that the Illuminate had dispatched.
Unfortunately, the alien invaders would not have learned their lesson and instead decided to spit on Liberty's face. On January 8th, 2185, they sent a midnight raid onto Andar. This time however, the Helldivers would be split between both an Automaton advance at Matar Bay and a Terminid offensive on Terrek and Acamar IV, which only left a small contingent of Helldivers available to alleviate the situation. Reasonably, the lack of Helldiver support would be what allowed this second raid to succeed and, 12 hours later, the Illuminate pillagers left. A similar raid would take place on February 17th, 2185, where 3 Illuminate invasion fleets made planetfall and ravaged the planet once more, with the Helldivers being unable to assist due to an emergency on Fenrir III.
Another raid would take place on March 4th, also being unable to be repelled by the Helldivers, and then a subsequent raid took place on the night of March 17th, which also ended with the Illuminate sacking the planet and leaving on the early hours of March 18th.
Singularity Crisis and the Battle of Super Earth
Despite the Illuminate raids, Andar would continue to prosper, repairing the damages and continuing its peaceful existence undeterred by the horrors inflicted by the xenophobic terrorists. On May 20th, 2185, the citizens of Andar proudly founded their new planetary capital, the Mega City of New Tokyo. For many months, New Tokyo sat as the new beating heart driving the economic development of the Akira Sector and as a crucial trading hub.
Operation Bigger Apple
Following the destruction and chaos brought upon the galaxy after the Battle of Super Earth at the hands of the
Illuminate terrorists, Andar's limestone and mineral reserves would become an increasingly crucial resource for the purposes of rebuilding the sacred homeworld of the
Federation. Andar's mining economy boomed and, because of this, the Federal FTL Network would be greatly restored across the Southern Sectors on October 27th, 2185. Andar would be reconnected to the heroic Calypso on the nearby Saleria Sector, as well as being connected to neighboring planets Alathfar XI and Asperoth Prime. It also gained a temporary FTL Line with Bellatrix that would be closed shortly after.
However, this reconnection would be followed by an outrageous
Illuminate offensive some hours later. The
Illuminate, having been absolutely defeated and forced to retreat from Super Earth, had retreated onto their hideouts throughout the Southern Galactic Fringe, from where they were now expanding their autocratic tendrils and spreading terror onto the innocent children of Liberty since June 2185.
This offense could not have been more poorly timed. Andar's environmental protection, alongside similar policies on Asperoth Prime, had been lifted so as to exploit the two planets' rich mineral deposits, in order to bolster the reconstruction of York Supreme on Super Earth. As such, High Command issued a Major Order designating Andar and Asperoth Prime as priority planets to be protected at all costs.
Luckily, in a complete shocker, the
Illuminate wouldn't even get near Andar. Instead, the
Helldivers would repel practically every single attack the Illuminate launched at them. From Shete to Alaraph to Karlia, the Squ'ith would be thoroughly beaten at every single turn. As such, the
Illuminate could not even come within 2 FTL lines of Andar nor Asperoth, completely destroying their advance and easily securing the Major Order in the favor of
Super Earth.
