The Detector Tower is an Automaton tactical asset that slowly rotates and observes its surroundings using its large red "eye." Once a Helldiver is spotted, it will call for Dropships endlessly until destroyed, making it an extremely dangerous subobjective to go loud and for stealthily infiltrating the tower to be the better option. When near the base of the tower, Helldivers will have access to the NUX-223 Hellbomb Stratagem to destroy it.

Tips

• Detector Towers spawn in difficulty levels 2 - 10.
• The Detector Tower will respond to gunfire and explosions that happen around it and if it notices any suspicious activity, it will stop rotating and stare in that direction for a long period of time. Sometimes it may even lock onto a nearby Helldiver and make stealth from that point on impossible; for these reasons, Helldivers should not engage with the tower or its surroundings until they are close enough to avoid detection.
  • Using Orbital or Eagle smoke strikes can obscure a Helldiver from being detected by a tower. However, only as long as they're inside or behind the smoke screen.
• While the Hellbomb is a guaranteed way to destroy the tower, it can be destroyed by most high damage Stratagems, including the Eagle Air Strike, Eagle 500kg Bomb, 120mm Artillery Barrage, 380mm Artillery Barrage, Orbital Precision Strike, and Orbital Railcannon. The Orbital Laser will destroy the tower should the beam sweep across it between targets, but the beam will not target the tower intentionally.
• When calling in a Hellbomb, Helldivers should throw the bomb a small distance away from the tower as the beacon will not activate immediately and roll around for a couple seconds if too close.
• There will usually be one Automaton Fabricator near the Detector Tower, destroying the fabricator and any Troopers around it without being spotted will leave the tower basically defenseless as there are no more Troopers that can call for Dropships if a player is spotted and the tower cannot detect Helldivers if they are close to its base.
• A Detector Tower may sometimes appear in the center of a Fortress.
