The Andromeda Sector is a sector found on the Western Front in Helldivers 2. It contains 5 habitable planets. The sector gets it's name from Andromeda, the beautiful daughter of King Cepheus and Queen Cassiope of Joppa in Palestine (modern day Mega City 5) and wife of Perseus. Cassiope offended the Nereids by boasting that Andromeda was more beautiful than they, so in revenge Poseidon sent a sea monster to devastate Cepheus' kingdom. In the end, Andromeda was given a place amongst the stars by Goddess Athena.
The Sector has been an extremely deadly one, hotly contested between the Federation of Super Earth and the Automatons. Once an innocent sector in the Galactic Northwest, the Automatons began an invasion of the sector in April 2184, taking full control by late April. However, they would be repelled and eliminated in Operation Andromeda in the summer, which severed the Automatons in half. The Automatons wouldn't make it back to the Sector until October 2184, and even then were only limited to Matar Bay and Martale.
The newfound peace of the Sector wouldn't last permanently, as the Automatons began a second takeover of the sector in March 2185. They now have full control of all 5 planets, with its valiant citizens demanding justice someday soon.
