| ~ Armory description |
The CB-9 Exploding Crossbow is a unique weapon introduced in the Democratic Detonation Warbond. It functions as a repeating crossbow which fires exploding bolts.
Role:
The CB-9 is a "silenced" grenade launcher. The weapon is silent and, provided the shooter is not seen, enemies will have a hard time pinpointing the source of the shot. This can be useful for luring enemies into traps or to distract them, though the user should be warned this will put the enemies on alert making them more likely to spot Helldivers.
The weapon itself is very powerful, capable of taking out groups of clustered light infantry and is capable of killing most medium-armored enemies with a handful of shots.

Notes
- The CB-9's bolts are impact-triggered with a sizable AoE. It is not advised to use them at close range without explosive-resistant armor.
- By angling the weapon, it can be used to hit enemies from a distance.
- The weapon is classified as a one-handed weapon, allowing it to be fired while on the move or while holding an object.
- The weapon is capable of destroying fabricators and bug holes. The bolts still need to be fired into the vents of a fabricator to score a kill, however.
- The "silent" nature of this weapon is that enemies might will not be alerted to your presence when this weapon is shot nearby, or will not be able to pinpoint your location immediately. They may also choose to instead investigate their down comrade, or the point of impact of the bolt, rather than glance at your general direction.
- If the target survives your shot or its AoE, they will be alerted to your presence. If they are killed before they can fire their weapon or a signal flare, stealth can typically still be maintained.
- The bolts have a slow travel time and have a slightly arched flight path. One may need to lead against moving targets.
- The explosion will stagger light and medium armored enemies.
- The crossbow's red dot is actually larger than the projectile it shoots, leading to times where the dot might be on-target but misses because the bolt goes through the gap between their arms or legs. Aiming in third person alleviates this, as the crosshairs on this mode are closer to the size of the weapon's projectile.
- The weapon is effective against both factions. It capable of killing Automaton devastators and scout striders in two shots to the lower body. While on the Terminid side, it is capable of killing Hive Guards and Bile/Nursing spewers in two shots, and its plentiful ammo stores makes it a good weapon at shutting down large nests.
- The weapon is capable of staggering and killing heavy devastators, even if they are shot at their shields.
- Compared to grenade launchers, the CB-9 is more forgiving at being shot into fabricator vents, still being able to destroy them even at more tighter angles where grenade rounds might simply harmlessly explode.
